Math 1060 is the first course in the three-semester calculus sequence taught at Clemson, and is concerned with limits, derivatives, and basic integration. This is the homepage for Chris Johnson's sections of 1060 and contains basic information about the course, notes from class, due dates for assignments, and other resources that 1060 students may find helpful.

Graduate Teaching Assistants

Graduate teaching assistants are graduate students that grade assignments and lead out-of-class recitations. Recitations give you an opportunity to see more examples and practice problems worked out, and an informal setting to ask questions.

Please be aware that GTA's will not do your work for you, and have been explicitly instructed not to help on graded assignments! The GTA's have also been told they can end recitations early if no students come within the first 30 minutes.

The recitation times and locations below are tentative and subject to change.

Supplemental Instruction

Supplemental instruction is a program led by the Academic Success Center, where an undergraduate that has previously taken 1060 and received an A offers out-of-class tutoring and is available to answer questions.

Please be aware that SI's will not do your work for you, and the SI's have been explicitly instructed not to help on graded assignments!

Academic Success Center

Free, drop-in tutoring is available for Math 1060 through the Academic Success Center, located behind the library. Tutoring should be used to discuss course materials and ask questions, but not as a replacement for class, office hours, or recitations. To maximize the benefit from tutoring, come fully prepared with your book and notes.

Please be aware that tutors will not do your work for you, and ASC tutors are prohibited from working on your graded assignments!

For more details on policies and drop-in session information, please see the ASC website at http://www.clemson.edu/asc. Please also see the ASC's tutoring schedule for a list of times when drop-in tutoring takes place.
